Dr. Punyadech Photangtham, MD

  • HIV Medical Director, Greenwich House Primary Care Initiative Program
  • Advisory Role: Healthcare

Dr. Punyadech Photangtham is the HIV Medical Director for Greenwich House, Inc. In this position, he provides health care to underserved populations living with HIV, chronic Hepatitis B and/or chronic Hepatitis C, as well as those with substance abuse issues. Concurrently, he is Associate Clinical Professor for the Beth Israel Residency in Urban Family Practice (associated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine).

After graduating with a medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Photangtham completed his residency in Family Medicine at the Beth Israel Residency in Urban Family Practice. He was co-Chief Resident during his final year of residency. Prior to his role at Greenwich House, as a recipient of the National Health Service Corp Loan Repayment Award, he was Senior Family Physician and HIV specialist for the Betances Health Center for 7 years.

Dr. Photangtham is a consultant for Visionary Health Concept, in development of culturally sensitive brochures for Asian patients with Hepatitis B infection. He also serves on the Board of Advisors and the Speakers Bureau for Gilead Sciences, Abbott Lab and GlaxoSmithKline. In July 2007, he started a private primary care practice, Pride Medical PLLC, in the Washington Heights area of New York City.
